Graham Lupp is an artist based in Bathurst, NSW.
"The work I have been undertaking in recent years looks at certain elements of the Australian landscape around Bathurst district where I have lived most of my life. It is only through a gradual, lifelong familiarity that I have become aware of a mysterious, inexplicable 'otherness' that exists behind the visual immediacy of being in the bush. Of course, this is inherently understood by our First Nations people as explained to me by one of our local Wiradjuri elders and good family friend. As a result, I am currently exploring, in paint, pastels and drawing, a more evocative approach to my surroundings."
