There's a new wind blowing

Our farm was first settled in the 1800’s and from what we can tell was predominantly cleared for sheep. During my walks across the farm, I’ve been noticing the way the wind sweeps across the cleared landscape, often freezing me to the core. Clumps of Pine Trees were planted decades ago to replace the native vegetation that was cleared away and these towering trees now resemble islands for shelter in an ocean of grass. During this painting, while the sky was changing and the wind whipped around me, these trees kept me safe and warm for a while. Sometimes with a new wind, comes change and we find a our new direction.
